Active at both ends in draw
McKennie had two shots (zero on goal), one cross (one accurate) and three chances created in Friday's 2-0 victory against Australia. He also added four interceptions, three tackles and five duels won.
Analysis: McKennie was busy on both ends Friday, pushing the lines forward every time he had the chance but also doing the dirty work defensively in central midfield alongside Tyler Adams. McKennie is one of the most interesting midfielders in fantasy due to his ability to fill the stat sheet with peripheral contributions. That said, he won't carry a lot of upside unless he scores or assists consistently, which he's yet to do in the current World Cup campaign. He has two shots, six chances created and four crosses already.
Superb in opener
McKennie recorded three crosses and three chances created in Friday's 4-1 win over Paraguay.
Analysis: McKennie had a great outing Friday despite not picking up a goal contribution, as the midfielder played the full 90 in an influential role. He controlled much of the play through the middle, especially after Christian Pulisic's exit. This would lead to three chances created and numerous chances carved out, as his cross even led to the early own goal, a good sign moving forward.
