Minimal impact in loss

Bos had two crosses (one accurate) and one tackle in Friday's 2-0 loss against USA. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 16th minute while adding two clearances, a tackle, an interception and a blocked shot.

Analysis: Bos is known for his blistering pace, but he was unable to make an impact offensively. He also struggled with the threat of Sergino Dest. Bos is the clear-cut starter at left-back and should remain in the XI to face Paraguay on Thursday, June 25 in the group-stage finale.

Makes World Cup debut

Bos registered two shots (zero on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-0 win over Turkey.

Analysis: Bos started the game at left back and was frequently involved in duels against Zeki Celik and Arda Guler, and also made a crucial block. Bos' passing was nearly flawless, completing 21 of 23 attempted passes-an attribute vital to Australia's low block. Bos had a strong season for Feyenoord, scoring four goals and providing seven assists in 28 appearances.

Solid left wing-back option

Bos has been included in Australia's roster for the World Cup and should be valuable as a defender with plenty of attacking upside.

Analysis: Bos appears poised to start at left wing-back for Australia, a position that suits his athleticism and willingness to get forward. The 23-year-old has continued his development in Europe with Eredivisie side Feyenoord and offers the Socceroos an important source of width on the left flank. Unlike some of Australia's more defense-minded players, Bos is perfectly capable of carrying the ball into advanced areas and delivering crosses into the box, and he has even scored four goals over his 25 international appearances. That role could give him a huge fantasy boost, particularly if Australia deploys a back five for much of the tournament. He was in great form at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, delivering three goals and five assists in his last 12 matches played for both club and country.
